my 0 state of the art media pirating machine.

Work has finally slowed down, for today at least. Now if you would please allow me to be a dork for a second and talk about how I'm spending some of all of this extra money I've been making...

I ordered all the parts for what should be a really stout computer, 1.3gig AMD chip, 60 gig IBM 7200 hard drive, 256 megs of 266mhz ram, NEC 40 speed cd-rw (should burn a full music cd in under 3 minutes), Soundblaster live 5.1 (full surround sound) card, trick looking custom case, two fans, etc. All for under 430 bucks shipped. I already have an ethernet card, a second cd rom drive, 32 meg video card (I don't plan on playing games on it, so it will be more than sufficient), and all the other peripherals. I'm going to have to make do with a regular 15 inch monitor for now until I can afford a nice flat panel though. This is really the first computer I've ever bought though, and in todays world, it's more of a necessity than a luxury. It's vitally important that I can store thousands of mp3's and porn files and edit my own music and video stuff.

I have the money saved to do a lot of other projects too, but there hasn't been any time. I also need someone with a dang truck so I can go buy my new bed and haul away some stuff from our garage.

Also hoping like hell that hurricane out in the gulf doesn't hit us. Also wishing I didn't have to work today because there are some decent waves today because of it. I drove by at lunch and saw quite a few people out riding. Muddy nasty water or not, a wave is a wave.

I have a lot of work I need to get done/have done on my car, replacing a piece of carpet, the two dents I now have (insurance will handle it but its a painful process), repainting a few pieces of the interior, having the timing belt replaced and probably some new plugs, putting in my new front speakers, getting a radar detector, and having the alignment reset. I just don't have the time yet.

I'm very excited about the rennaisance fair coming up, the weather is finally cold (ok, it's in the 80's, but that's as hospitable as it's likely to get here for long), and the mead wine we made should be ready soon. Yay for very potent homemade alcohol.

Things with Paige are going great and I love her to pieces, and we still get along great. She gets jealous and a little insecure sometimes, but she's starting to realize that I'm not going anywhere and that she can trust me. My female friends bother her, even the ones I've never had any romantic interaction with. I know in the past I dated a lot of women, sometimes more than one at a time, but it was because none of them could give me all of what I was looking for like she does.

I think the main reason I haven't updated as much lately isn't the fact that I've been busy, it's that my being busy has caused me to be and feel a lot less creative.

I think that's slowly starting to change though, things are going to slow down after next week, and I should hear a bit more about the new job next week, and if I get that, it should bring about a major change of pace and tone. Not only will I be making more money, but I'll be working different hours, in a totally different place, and doing totally different things. Who knows, it may not be any better than this job now, but I'll never know unless I try.

I guess this is enough for one entry, I fully intend to go back to my several times a week updates in the future, but in the meantime I'm going to at least try to not let this thing die off.

I almost forgot: "Super Mario Sunshine" for the Gamecube is, no suprise to me, a great, great, great, game. It's so "happy" it's like taking drugs when I play it. Graphically it's better than anything else I've seen on all 3 systems, with a great attention to detail. Of course I had also had a few stiff drinks before I played it last time. But even without the drinks, it's still, dare I say, joyous?

Finally, go over and give Chuck some encouragement about fighting off his very real, very negative addiction.
